West Coast past Ayr and Turnberry and from the south M6 to A76 Dumfries, heading
North to join A77, then follow signs for Girvan..

island where you will see spectacular bird and wildlife around Ailsa Craig.
Ailsa
Craig, in the Firth of Clyde, is an Island rising 1,110 feet from the sea with
a very precipitous conical summit with exception on the North East
Side where it slopes more gently and is accessible. It was famous for a number
of years for the curling stones fashioned from its rock. It was here that the
curling stones used by the Scottish Women’s Curling Team, Winter 2002
Olympic Gold medal winners, were made.
Ayrshire Golf
Less than 10 minutes from Girvan lies the championship Turnberry Golf
Courses. Situated on a beautiful stretch of the Atlantic coastline,
with the world famous Turnberry hotel on your left and views to the magnificent
Ailsa Craig on your right. Turnberry is said to be the finest golfing destination
of all. Turnberry boasts the scene of some of the most remarkable moments in
Open history with the legendary Ailsa course being complemented by the dynamic
challenges of the new Kintyre championship course.
Turnberry also has a spa & gym & restaurant which visitors can enjoy.
Brunston Castle Golf Course is also only 10
minutes away. At 6800yards it's a long par 72 and is challenging
for both professionals & novices alike.
And
Girvan it selves boasts a 5495y municipal course running
right along the beautiful coast of Girvan with stunning
views towards Ailsa Craig in the Firth of Clyde
Further
down the coast lies Culzean Castle and Country Park,
often described as the 'jewel in the crown' for The
National Trust of Scotland. Designed by Adam in 1777,
it offers romance and culture in a stunning package,
built on a cliff top and marvellously restored. Offering
beautiful gardens, adventure playground, period furnishings
and a deer park, it is a delight to explore.

miles south of Girvan along the coast road lies Lendalfoot.
Where history recalls the legend of Sawney Bean the
cannibal and his family who roamed the hills in search
of their next meal. Today you can follow the pathway
that leads to his cave and explore it for yourself. |
